PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting device capable of easily connecting and also preventing play when connected. SOLUTION: A connecting member installed in a side plate of a desk body is connected to a sliding member 41 installed to an upper plate of the desk body. The sliding member 41 is slid by pivoted action of a handling lever 61 installed in the upper plate, and the connecting member 11 is fastened and fixed by means of slanting surfaces 51 and 52 of the sliding member 41. The sliding member 41 is slid by pivoting action of the handling lever 61, and fastening and fixing of the connecting member 11 by means of the slanting surfaces 51 and 52 is removed. Thus, connection of the sliding member 41 to the connecting member 11 is ready to remove. When the sliding member 41 is slid by pivoting action of the handling lever 61, the sliding member 41 connected with the connecting member 11 can be fastened and fixed in the slanting surfaces 51 and 52. Connection of the sliding member 41 to the connecting member 11 is ready to remove by means of the slanting surfaces 51 and 52. Thus, connection between the upper plate and side plate can be easily performed, and play when connected between the upper plate and side plate can be prevented.
