PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting signals of an electronic device which can adjust various signals by a fastest time, and to provide recorder. SOLUTION: The numeral '1' is set to a designated bit of an N-bit digital signal to be inputted to a D/A converter. The N-bit digital signal having the bit value set is inputted to the D/A converter. An output voltage from an amplifier whose output voltage changes in accordance with an analog signal obtained by D/A converting the inputted N-bit digital signal by the D/A converter is compared with a predetermined threshold. The set bit value is cleared on the basis of the comparison result. While the process is carried out, operations of the setting, inputting, comparing and clearing the bit are controlled to be repeated with each bit from a most significant bit to a predetermined bit being sequentially made the designated bit. The signal is adjusted in this manner.
