PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a head member, capable of accurately producing a head member with an orifice opening and a part of a channel linked therewith provided integrally, as a member for a DOD(dot on demand) type piezoelectric system ink-jet head. SOLUTION: This method comprises a plate-making step of forming a photosensitive resist layer on both surfaces of an ink channel forming metal plate member as the core member, positioning the surfaces so as to be exposed, applying a developing process to the surfaces, forming a first resist pattern layer 121 for etching process for forming a part of a channel in one of the surfaces as the surface for the etching process for forming a part of the channel, and forming a second resist pattern layer 122 for electroplating for forming an orifice part 145 in the other surface as the surface for electroplating for forming the orifice part 145.
