The encapsulation may be applied by injection moulding casting or varnishing techniques. The dry assembly, with lead out wires, is encapsulated first with an opening lift for filling with electrolyte which is sealed off after filling and completion of manufacture. The coil of formed oil is pref. wound, encapsulated, filled with electrolyte and then post formed. Alternatively unformed foil may be wound, encapsulated filled and the formation carried out using the working electrolyte during or after filling. Thermoplastic material pref. polypropylene or low pressure moulding resin may be used for the injection moulded encapsulation.
