The invention relates to a frequency closed loop for frequency modulation comprising an oscillator (VCO), whereby a first signal path (13), a second signal path (14) and a switch (S1) are provided for switching between the signal paths (13, 14). The signal paths (13, 14) each have a charge pump circuit (15, 16) with loop filters (17, 18) connected thereto in outgoing circuit. By connecting the first signal path (13), the closed loop enables a rapid build-up to a desired carrier frequency, an interruption of the rapid control during a modulation phase (G) and yet a compensation of frequency drifts during the modulation phase (G) by using the second signal path (14).
