PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for making the PCB contaminated electric appliances harmless, which enables reduction of cost of treatment and easy elimination of PCB for making harmless the large sized electric appliances and a recycling utilization of the materials after treatment. SOLUTION: In the treatment of making harmless the contaminated electric appliances, PCB is removed by the method in which PCB oil in extracted from the PCB contaminated electric appliances, the electric appliances are dismantled and put into the cooling chamber for cooling down by the air of low temperature or the like and then they are broken up into small pieces making use of their fragility, and thereafter the broken pieces are placed in a vacuum heating furnace to evaporate PCB with vacuum heating or put into a cleaning tank to be cleaned by a solvent. Further, the broken pieces which have been made harmless by removal of PCB are utilized for recycle after they are separated in a separator where the broken pieces are transferred.
