PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a turbid water capable of largely reducing a running cost and with no fear of environmental pollution. SOLUTION: When dipping a plurality of electrodes 2, 3 into a turbid water W and applying voltage therebetween to remove the turbidity of suspended fine particles, a half-wave rectification of current density 5 mA/cm<2> or less is supplied between the electrodes 2, 3 to generate a positive ion which has an extremely little metal ion on a cathode 2 and a negatively charged suspended particle is neutralized with the positive ion to coagulate the suspended particle, which is then settled and sedimented and the turbidity in the water is thus removed.
