<p>A drive unit for a liquid ejection head in which shrinkage of a pressure chamber and ejection of the liquid are caused by the application of a voltage to a piezoelectric body, wherein: (A) a drive pulse with an electric field exceeding the coercive electric field of the piezoelectric body is applied to the piezoelectric body during the liquid ejection operation such as printing, and (B) a pulse that eliminates polarization remaining in the piezoelectric body is applied to the piezoelectric body when no liquid ejection operation is conducted. As a result, a difference between the elements can be prevented even as time elapses, and a stable ejection characteristic can be obtained. <IMAGE></p> |
