The lock cylinder has a locking pin (16) moved into the path of a core (2) displaced within the lock cylinder housing (1), the locking pin held in the released position via an electromagnet (15) and biased into the blocking position by a spring. The movement of the core is blocked during the insertion of the key (5), the electromagnet operated for releasing the locking pin after full insertion of the key via an electronic control (13), activated by the key insertion, dependent on the detected key code
