Photonic crystal structure comprises: a first layer having a first group (102) of partial layers with different refractive indices; and a second layer covering the first layer. The second layer is structured as a two dimensional photonic crystal. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a photonic crystal structure. Preferred Features: A third layer having a second group (108) of partial layers with different refractive indices is arranged over the second layer. The first group of partial layers has several alternating series of second partial layers. A metalizing layer (105) is arranged between the first layer and the second layer.
