PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe heater for a smoking agent, capable of starting heat-release by an operation, and capable of sufficiently heating the smoking agent. SOLUTION: This heater 1 for the smoking agent has a heating container 20 keeping contact with a smoking agent 23 and having the interior filled with a solid heating agent 22, a sealed container 12 filled with a liquid heating- starting agent 13 for starting the heat-release by reacting with the solid heating agent 22, arranged at the upper part of the heating container 20, and a partitioning plate 16 capable of being pulled out in the nearly horizontal direction and arranged between the heating container 20 and the sealed container 12, and can start the heat-release by pushing down the sealed container 12 in a state of the partitioning plate 16 being pulled out to break the sealed container 12.
