PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device capable of being constructed on an existing static plane, easily handling and having wide adaptability to kinds of an object to be moved. SOLUTION: This positioning device is provided with a X-direction positioning mechanism in which a X-direction extending and retracting mechanism is arranged opposite to a X-direction elastisty supporting mechanism in the X- direction so as to sandwich the object to be moved, and a Y-direction positioning mechanism in which a Y-direction extending and retracting mechanism is arranged opposite to a Y-direction elastisty supporting mechanism in the Y- direction so as to sandwich the object to be moved. In the device, the object to be moved can be moved in the X-direction by the amount of extension and retraction of a X1 mobile member which is provided by operating the X- direction extending and retracting mechanism and can be moved in the Y- direction by the amount of extension and retraction of a Y1 mobile member which is provided by operating the Y-direction extending and retracting mechanism, thereby, it is constituted so as to be able to position in the X-direction and Y-direction.
