<p>Method of preventing the grinding of disc brakes by treating the disc surface so that non-uniformities which give rise to differences in plastic deformation causing vibration during braking, are removed. This may be achieved by pickling the disc with H2SO4 to remove the superficial layer and liberate the veins of graphite, by heating in air to form a fine grain layer of oxide on the surface while liberating the graphite veins, or by electrolytic treatment to remove the superficial layer and liberate the graphite veins.</p> |
