Flame protection for an air bag

The airbag module comprises an airbag (1) and a gas generator (2) with pyrotechnic drive loading, a flame protector (3) and a holding sheet (4). The entry opening of the airbag is about the edge side of the gas generator clamped between the gas generator and the holder sheet. The flame protector is made from a pot-shaped textile section made from heat resistant material. The base (5) of the entry opening of the airbag has a corresponding central recess.
