METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING LIVE STREAMING IMAGE FROM ULTRASONIC IMAGING SYSTEM THROUGH NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a live streaming image directly to a receiving device by an ultrasonic imaging system through a wide area network. SOLUTION: An image displayed on a monitor 18 of an ultrasonic scanner is taken in the form of a single frame or frame group, subjected to compression in the MPEG form, subsequently passed through a digital output port of the scanner, and transmitted to a receiver through a TCP/I network. A host computer 20 of the ultrasonic imaging system is programmed by live streaming image software facilitating the transmission of an image frame from a cine memory 16 to a remote receiver through a hard disk and network. Software application operated on the receiver collects streaming data and processes the same, and outputs an image and voice to a monitor 38 at the receiving end. The receiving station buffers incoming data to smooth the output.
