PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair in which an auxiliary leg can be easily and reliably held in a use position and a storage position and malfunction of the auxiliary leg can be prevented. SOLUTION: In this chair in which a backrest 3 can be raised into a raised state and laid into a nearly horizontal state, and an auxiliary leg 6 which becomes a leg when the backrest 3 is put into a horizontal state is mounted in the upper portion of the rear of the backrest 3 so that it may be rotated into the use position nearly perpendicular to the rear of the backrest 3 and the storage position following the rear side, and an engagement means (stopper) 13 capable of engaging the auxiliary leg 6 in the use position and the storage position is provided in the rear side of the backrest 3.
