PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective utilizing method of chitin-containing waste or a method to reduce a waste disposal cost of chitin-containing waste. SOLUTION: This invention is related to a disposal method for a chitin- containing waste which carries out a decomposition disposal of the chitin- containing waste biologically under an anaelobic condition by using Clostridium genus chitin decomposition anaerobic bacteria, especially M strain of Clostridium paraputrificum, and conducting the following 1) and/or 2): 1) by utilizing embrittlement of chitin by the decomposition disposal, to compress the chitin- containing waste with high density and provide for discarding or other secondary use. 2) by the decomposition disposal, to generate hydrogen gas and collect it as an energy source.
