摘要 <p>The spacing between road vehicles on a section of road is based upon inputs from a forward looking radar sensor system in the vehicle. The system differentiates between an overtaking manoeuvre and a vehicle passing around a bend in the road. The radar sensor has an angle of vision ( alpha ). The sideways movement ( delta ) of the overtaking vehicle (B) relative to half the lane width (W), is used as the basis of differentiating between a bend and overtaking manoeuvre.</p>
