PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a welded shape and to perform the welding having good quality by reducing residual stress in a member 10 to be welded caused by thermal expansion during welding and lessening welding distortion. SOLUTION: When a thin plate is welded, a cooling block 22 is disposed near the welding part 11 and the welding is performed while forcibly cooling at least one surface near the welding part with the cooling block 22.
