PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control system for an activated carbon packed tower, capable of exactly sensing the repacking time of the activated carbon by controlling the operating condition of the packed tower with reliability, for example, by exactly sensing the adsorbed amount of impurities by the acti vated carbon. SOLUTION: The accumulated adsorbed amount of the impurities by the activated carbon is calculated according to the data of the operation record of the packed tower (calculating means 11). The breakthrough curve is found out for the activated carbon packed in the packed tower on the basis of the operation specification of the packed tower, the data of the isothermal line for the activated carbon adsorption and the data of the adsorption rate by the activated carbon (simulation means 12) and according to the breakthrough curve the possible adsorption capacity of the impurities by the activated carbon is estimated (estimation means 13). The ratio of the accumulated adsorbed amount to the possible adsorption capacity is calculated (adsorption ratio calculation means 14) and then the adsorption ratio of the impurities by the activated carbon is displayed in the form of a graph (displaying means 5a).
