PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oligonucleotide, or the like, capable of complementarily binding to an intramolecular structure-free region of Salmonella toxin gene mRNA. SOLUTION: This invention provides oligonucleotides for detecting Salmonella toxin genes invA mRNA and stn mRNA, which oligonucleotides specifically bind to invA mRNA or stn mRNA at a relatively low constant temperature (for example, 41 deg.C), and a process for amplifying Salmonella toxin gene invA mRNA or stn mRNA and a method for detecting the above genes by using the oligonucleotides are provided.
