New 1,4-diamino-2-(2-aminoethyl)-benzene compounds and their physiologically compatible water soluble salts. 1,4-Diamino-2-(2-aminoethyl)-benzene of formula (I) or their physiologically compatible water soluble salts are new. R1 - R4 = H, 1-6C alkyl, 2-4C hydroxyalkyl or 3-4C dihydroxyalkyl or R1 + R2 or R3 + R4 form a 4-8 membered aliphatic ring whereby at least two of R1-R4 are H; R5 = H, F, Cl, Br, I, 1-4C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or alkoxy; R6, R7 = H, 1-6C alkyl, 3-6C hydroxyalkyl, 3-4C dihydroxyalkyl, 2-4C aminoalkyl, a dimethylamino-2-4C-alkyl, acetylamino-2-4C-alkyl, methoxy-2-4C-alkyl, ethoxy-2-4C alkyl, 1-4C cyanoalkyl, carboxyalkyl, aminocarbonylalkyl, pyridylmethyl, furfuryl, thienylmethyl, substituted pyridyl or is of formula (2); R8, R9 = H or 1-6C alkyl; R10 - R14 = H, F, Cl, Br, I, cyano, hydroxyl, 1-4C alkoxy, hydroxyalkyl, 1-6C alkyl, 1-4C alkylthioether, mercapto, nitro, amino, 1-4C alkylamino, di-(1-4C)alkylamino, di(2-4C)hydroxyalkylamino, 1-4C-hydroxyalkylamino, (3-4C)-dihydroxyalkylamino, trifluoromethane, -C(O)H-, -C(O)CH3-, -C(O)CF3, -Si(CH3), 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, 2-4C dihydroxyalkyl, carboxy or pyrrolidine or two neighboring R10-R14 form a -O-CH2-O bridge; and n = 0 or 1. An Independent claim is also included for a composition (II) for the oxidative coloring of keratin fillers based on a developer-coupling agent combination whereby the developer is at least one 1,4-diamino-2-(2-amiinoethyl)benzene derivatives of formula (1).
