PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grill which prevents clogging of an open port of a gas burner and enables the degree of grilling of food to check for a long period while maintaining the durability of parts of the grill. SOLUTION: The front near side of the burner 3 is provided with an illumination mechanism 30 of a positional relation in which a terminal 21b of a holder 21 housing a solid 20 of a sodium chloride rod abuts on a cam plate 26. Only when a user desires to check the degree of broiling of the materials F, the user pushes a knob 27 and moves the cam plate 26 backward to move the holder 21 toward the central direction of the grill compartment 2. As a result, the front end 20a of the solid 20 is grilled and ionized in the flame of the flame port 8 for cooking and the flame thereof is changed from ordinary blue to yellow by the flame reaction of the sodium and the inside of the grill compartment 2 is brightened, by which the degree of broiling of the materials F can be easily checked and the consumption of the solid 20 can be suppressed.
