PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrator for an endoscope with a small and simple structure, capable of giving vibrations to the inserting part of an endoscope and facilitating the inserting operation of the inserting part of the endoscope into a lumen. SOLUTION: The vibrator 1 for an endoscope has a long inserting part 2 to be inserted into a treatment part inserting channel 60 of the endoscope 10 and a base part 3 mounted on the base end side of the inserting part 2. A motor is mounted inside the base part 3 to drive/rotate the inserting part 2. A weight 4, whose center of gravity is located at a position eccentric to the center line of rotation, is mounted at the tip of the inserting part 2. The weight 4 generates vibrations by rotating together with the inserting part 2, and an inserted part 30 vibrates nearly perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction with the vibrations generated by the weight 4. As a result, the inserted part 30 is prevented from closely abutting to the inner wall of a lumen and the frictional resistance in the lumen is reduced.
