TOOL AND METHOD FOR FORMING ANTIFOULING COATING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the antifouling property of a coating film formed on the body of a motorcar. SOLUTION: The coating film is furthermore formed on the coated surface of the car body by applying a coating liquid being an organic solvent solution of polysilazane incorporated in a nonwoven fabric to the coated surface by hand by using the nonwoven fabric impregnated with the coating liquid. It is preferable that the coating liquid contains 0.01-15 wt.%, preferably 0.1-5 wt.%, polysilazane and the nonwoven fabric to be used has a density of 0.05-0.16 g/cm<3> under 3 g/cm<2> load and a weight of 30-300 g/m<2> . The coating liquid- applied surface is preferably treated with an alkaline aqueous solution after being dried naturally.
