The invention relates to a powder jet device for use in dentistry, comprising a powder jet tool (5) that is connected to a supply block (20) for the media air and water. For this purpose, said supply block (20) is provided with corresponding outlets (21, 22, 23). The outlet (21) for air is connected to a powder reservoir (7) that is linked with the powder jet tool (5) via a discharge line (36). A line (33) for the supply of water to the powder jet tool is connected to the outlet (23) for water. A control element (16) that is preferably configured as a pedal switch and that cooperates with an actuator (17) acting upon the air supply allows for a variation of the intensity of the powder/air jet mixture.
