Door security and apparatus

A control system for a door includes means for controlling displacement of the door between its open and closed positions (1) incorporating at least one lock unit (6) resiliently loaded towards its locking setting, means (14) for ensuring that each such lock unit is fully opened before the door can be displaced from its closed position and preventing movement of the door until the lock is fully opened. The control means is for use with an up-and-over type garage door.
