PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of performing washing and rinsing with a proper water quantity according to the increase and decrease of laundry quantity even when the laundry quantity changes during washing. SOLUTION: This method includes a step of measuring the static load D1 of a washing tub containing laundry to detect the static load C1 of the put laundry; a step of detecting the dynamic load D2 of the washing tub containing laundry and water and the time series change waveform of the dynamic load D2 while rotating an inner tub and/or a pulsator; a step of extracting a high frequency component from the resulting change waveform of the dynamic load D2 to acquire a secondary vibration waveform, and determining the dynamic load C2 of the laundry present in the washing tub on the basis of the dynamic load D2 of the washing tub containing laundry and water and the secondary vibration waveform.
