PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a massage machine, which can be used as an ordinary chair without being interfered with a treatment unit by enabling a massage mechanism to rise and fall along the back of a patient during massage and enabling it to be retreated and housed during stop. SOLUTION: In the massage machine, which has a pair of massage mechanism guide rails provided within a back rest section 2 and in which a massage mechanism 3 having a treatment unit 31 is arranged along the above guide rails in a freely elevating and lowering manner, the pair of massage mechanism guide rails is constituted of a main upper rail 41 at the upper part, a massage mechanism branching guide rail 4 having a main lower rail 41 a lower part of which is branched forward and backward to form a secondary lower rail 43, and a branching travel rail 44, which can be moved back of forth and, arranged on the branch section of the massage mechanism branching guide rail 4. It is so devised that the massage mechanism 3 can be guided in two directions according to the purpose at the lower part of the massage mechanism guide rails.
