Goniochromatic brilliant pigments based on transparent non-metallic platy substrates

Goniochromatic gloss pigments are based on multi-layered, high-breaking, non-metallic disk-shaped substrates at least partially transparent to visible light which have at least one laminated packet comprising A) a colourless layer with a refractive index (R.I.) n≤1.8 and B) a reflecting, (non)selective absorbing layer at least partially transparent to visible light, and if necessary also C) an outer protective layer. Pref. the disk-shaped substrate has an R.I.≥2.0. It consists of silicate disks coated with a high-breaking layer at least partially transparent to visible light, or disk-shaped iron oxides or mica disks coated with high-breaking metal oxides.
