METHOD FOR DETECTING MYCOPLASMA GENITALIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting Mycoplasma genitalium. SOLUTION: This is a method for detecting Mycoplasma genitalium by carrying out real-time PCR by using a DNA obtained from a specimen as a template and using a probe, wherein the probe used in the real-time PCR is designed based on the base sequence of the region corresponding to base no.610-644 or 792-869 of a base sequence represented by sequence no.1 (refer to specification) of 16S RRNA gene, and a primer pair used in the real-time PCR is designed based on a base sequence conserved at least in M. genitalium in the region corresponding to base no.497-1051 of a base sequence represented by sequence no.1 of 16S rRNA gene and so as to permit amplifying a region containing the base sequence of the probe.
