PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bench rice mill of stirring convection type which performs a satisfactory rice washing at a low rate of rice crushing and a low rate of cracking, has a simple constitution an easy maintenance. SOLUTION: On the rice milling, unpolished rice is put into a rice milling cage, a driving shaft is rotated, thereby, the unpolished rice is stirred by the rotation of rice milling blades, the unpolished rice is scraped against meshes of metal gauge by a centrifugal force, bran is scraped, the scraped bran is scattered outward from the meshes by centrifugal force and is dropped into a bran box. The rice after the rice milling is put into the rice milling cage and the rice washing is performed in such a manner that the water content of the rice after the rice washing becomes substancially in the range of 12.5%-13.5% by rotating with the number of rotation in accordance with an amount of the rice which is lower than the number of rotation at the rice milling and for the time in accordance with an amount of the rice.
