The screw compressor (1) is driven by a motor (4). A spray of water is injected into the air inlet (2). The compressed air outlet (3) is fed to a reservoir cylinder and water separator (6). The water is obtained from a processing equipment, e.g. a reverse osmosis system (13). It passes through a heating cylinder (15) and through a restrictor (20). The condensed water from the reservoir can be fed back (7) to the compressor or drained via a tap (10).
