The separator (10) is freely rotatable and provided with a drive mechanism which is activated by the air taken in via the suction unit. Dust is filtered from air which is drawn in through a suction opening (7) and passed through a water bath (28) before being discharged into the surroundings. The vacuum cleaner has a sealed space above the water bath and contains a rotatable separator with a means for separating the air and moisture. A suction unit leads towards the air outlet opening.
