Packages are held inside two overlapping, top and bottom sides of the carton with each package oriented straight, with its front side (11f) facing an opening in one side of the carton. A strip of material removed by tearing along a perforation line extends around the carton, and its removal enables the carton to be split into identical top and bottom tray parts containing the packages. Narrow edge zones (6a) folded in towards the tray base parts of the carton at an obtuse angle are used to maintain frictional contact with the both right-angled corners at the bottom end of the package, so that the packages remain inside the trays when the carton is divided in two. |
