<p>Process: R- - = an aliphatic carboxylic acid residue (C2-C18) Lincomycin-7-acylates and -carboxylates have essentially the same antibacterial spectrum as the antibiotic lincomycin and may be used as antibacterial agents. Lincomycin-7-acetate inhibits the growth of Staph. aureus and may be used as disinfecting agent for infected dinner-things. The 7-acylates and 7-carboxylates may also be used for inhibiting the growth of Gram-pos. spores on agar plates in the separation of fungi, yeasts Streptomycetes and Gram-neg. organisms. The new intermediates 2, 3, 4-tris-O(trimethylsilyl) lincomycin 7-acylates and -carboxylates (IV) are used in the preparation of (V). The new process gives much higher yields than known processes.</p> |
