PURPOSE: A side step device of a vehicle is provided to reduce the number of parts and secure passenger's safety by reducing entry into the room of a side sill and minimizing impact load transmitted to a passenger, in a side collision. CONSTITUTION: In a side step device of a vehicle, a side step plate is disposed inside a slide door(20), and a guide rail(27) guiding movement of an upper side step sill and the slide door are installed to the lower end of the side plate. A lower side step sill is disposed to the lower end of the guide rail. The lower end portion of the slide door contacts the side sill formed by mutually melting and compressing a side outer panel(22), a side lower sill(23), and a side inner sill(24). The guide rail where a roller(25) is inserted in vertical flanges(23a,24a) is melted and compressed to the side lower sill and the side inner sill. A rear floor(26) is melted and compressed to a side of the side inner sill. Thus, number of parts is reduced and passenger's safety is improved.
