The invention relates to a method of modulating calcium channels in vascular and cardiac tissues, comprising administering a warm-blooded animal a compound selected from the group of 2-aryl-3-aroylbenzo [b] thiophenes or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in a 0.1...1000 mg daily dose, administrated once or three times a day or more often, in order to treat the condition or the symptom, for a day, till continuous administration.
