<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the ink which does not coagulate and therefore can sufficiently hide a substrate, when a water-base overprint varnish is applied on the printed surface, by using a white pigment and a particulate silica as the constituents. CONSTITUTION:The ink contains a white pigment, a particulate silica preferably having a silanol group on the surface and a particle diameter of 100nm or smaller, and a resin component comprising at least one resin preferably selected from a rosin-modified phenolic resin, a rosin-modified alkyd resin, an alkyd resin modified with a fatty acid, a petroleum resin, an epoxy resin, etc. This white ink containing the particulate silica can remarkably prevent the coagulation of ink in the thin undried ink film when a water-base overprint varnish is applied as compared with one containing no particulate silica, it can, therefore, provide the covering method excellent in hiding a substrate.</p> |
