The fluidised container is assembled from section which are bolted together by joining flanges and which include seal. The seals (81) are located in curved recess grooves and are inflated when in the sealing position. This provides an outer convex profile to prevent build-up of material at the seals. The bottom of the container has a grid (102) sealed to the container with inflated seals. The grid can be loosened and swung out of the container after the seals are deflated.
