CONSTITUTION: To prepare a silver-based catalyst for synthesizing methanol by using at least one kind of metallic oxide selected out of ceria (CeO2 ), zirconia (ZrO2 ), and a double oxide containing at least either Ce or Zr as a carrier, and causing the metallic oxide carrier to carry silver. |
