PURPOSE:To provide a ternary catalyst for simultaneously purifying hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) whose catalytic performance is slightly decreased and durability is high even when used at high temp. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst consists of an inorg. refractory catalyst carrier and an alumina coating layer thereon which contains one or more elements of platinum, palladium and rhodium. Further, this alumina layer contains 2-20wt.% lanthanum oxide and 10-40wt.% multiple oxide consisting of cerium oxide having 50-300Angstrom crystal lattice size having 5-15wt.% solid soln. of zirconium oxide. |
