PURPOSE: Provided is a far infrared emitting composition, being applicable to mattress, pillow and cushion, which has the effects of health promotion, deodorization and sterilization by using quartz porphyry, silica and borax as main materials. CONSTITUTION: The composition is prepared by the following steps of: mixing 25-35wt.% of quartz porphyry, 25-35wt.% of silica, 10-15wt.% of borax, 5-10wt.% of feldspar, 4-6wt.% of boric acid, 2-4wt.% of KCO3, 4-6wt.% of alumina, 0.8-1.2wt.% of limestone, 0.8-1.2wt. % of BaCO3, 0.8-1.2wt.% of Zr, 1.5-2.5wt.% of C, 0.8-1.2wt.% of KNO3, and 0.8-1.2wt.% of colorant; heating to 1400deg.C or higher for melting; forming to shapes of disk, rod, ring, button, etc. The composition continuously emits far infrared ray(0.4-1000micrometer) for a long time.
