The compsns contn. cpds. of formula (I): (in which R1 is OH, 1-66C alkoxy, 3-6C alkoxyalkoxy, 7-10C phenyl alkoxy or phenoxy, and the benzene ring A may opt. be substd. by 1-4 gps. selected from 1-10C alkyl, 5-7C cycloalkyl, 1-5C alkoxy, halogen, 7-10C phenylalkyl or phenoxy, or phenyl opt. substd. by 1-3 gps selected from 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy, NO2 or halogen) opt. in the form of a pharmaceutically accetable salt, together with a pharmaceutical carrier or diluent. Many of the cpds. of formula (I) are new and are prepd. by cyclising cpds. of formula A-NH.N=C(COX)2. (I) are esp. useful for the treatment of asthma.
