PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic color developing toner excellent in safety, free of the deterioration of a charged state, not causing filming on a photoreceptor, a developer layer thickness regulating member and a developing sleeve after continuous printing and capable of stabilizing the electrostatic charge and conveyance of the toner and to provide two-component and one- component developers. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic toner obtained by using at least a bonding resin, an electrostatic charge controlling agent and a masterbatch treated colorant as principal components, mixing these with additives if necessary and carrying out toner formation, (I) the bonding resin is a polyester resin and/or a polyol resin, (II) a masterbatch pigment is so prepared as to ensure 0.01-5.0% drying loss at 110 deg.C and <=0.5% drying loss at 70 deg.C after kneading when the pigment is mixed with the bonding resin while adding water and this mixture is heated, kneaded and freed of the water and (III) the electrostatic charge controlling agent is a plastic electrostatic charge controlling agent having a sulfonate-containing monomer, an aromatic monomer having an electron withdrawing group and a (meth)acrylic ester monomer as constitutional units. |
