PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time for quoting and delivery by permitting customers to prepare quotations easily with a small working load, in an online order receiving/placing system, to meet various customers' needs such as special order or urgent order, and to attain an efficient delivery management with few errors. SOLUTION: An order receiving host 6 and order placing terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected through a network 5. The order receiving host manages an inventory data 12 and a quotation data 13 on an order receiving/placing information database. The inventory data and related quote data are referenced to in response to inquiries made on the order placing terminal. The order placing terminal refers to the data, prepares a quotation data and sends them to the order receiving host. The order receiving host stores the received quotation data in the order receiving/placing information database as an order receiving data and manages delivery based on the order receiving data. |
