Pharmaceutical compositions comprising (1S, 4R)-cis-4- [2-amino- 6-cyclopropylamino)- 9H-purin-9- yl]-2-cyclopentene-1-methanol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or salt of ester thereof, preferably the hemisulfate salt, a metal chelator, and at least one sweetening agent at a pH range of 2.0-4.5 are disclosed. The metal chelator is preferable citrate, and the sweetening agent can be selected from sorbitol, saccharin, acesulfame, fructose, sucralose and aspartame.
