PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible even for an ordinary user to perform an appropriate trimming work easily. SOLUTION: A main CPU 23 reads out image data representing an image from an SSFDC 21 and displays that image at an LCD display section 19. When a designation of the position and size of a trimming area for that image is inputted to an input designation acquiring section 25, the main CPU 23 sets a trimming frame of substantially similar shape as that image and having an aspect ratio substantially identical to that of the original image or to the reverse ratio thereof for that image based on that designation. An image processing section 14 generates image data representing an image in that trimming frame.
