PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scattering or the like of toner in inserting paper into a thermal fixing device. SOLUTION: In the thermal fixing device (18) provided with a heating means (26), a pressurizing means (27) and a fixing inlet guide plate (58) for guiding a recording medium (3) carried through a photosensitive body (23) to a nip part (60) between the heating and pressurizing means (26, 27), the tip part (58a) of the guide plate (58) is arranged between a 1st face (a) extended so as to be brought into contact with both of the pressurizing means side surface of the heating means (26) and the transfer side surface of the photosensitive body (23) and a 2nd face (b) extended so as to include both of the nip part between the heating and pressurizing means (26, 27) and the common tangent of the nip part.
