PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character recognition device which improves the efficiency of postprocessing by incorporating a special region, having a possibility of performing an erroneous correction in a language processing in an object of the language processing in a natural form. SOLUTION: A user designates a part of speech, to which the information included in a prescribed partial region belongs, by collating to the surrounding context. This character recognition device 100 obtains the correct word column in the language, based on a speech part connection relation and the information designated by the user from the multiple word columns obtained by connecting search results acquired, by searching a word lists with each word set to a starting word, using a single or multiple candidate characters for each character and corrects the character recognition result, corresponding to the result.
